Carbon Reduction Plan
A CRP, also known as a carbon management plan, is a declaration made by suppliers outlining their current carbon footprint and their commitment to aiding the UK in reaching net zero emissions by the year 2050. ESG PRO can help you develop your CRP to international standards.
A CRP’s goal is to determine the project’s environmental impact by requesting information from suppliers about the environmental management practises used to carry out the contract. When a CRP is required, suppliers only need to create one CRP, which they will maintain and use.
- Verification of the supplier’s commitment to having all UK operations operate at Net Zero by 2050.
- The disclosure of current emissions for sources covered by Scopes 1 and 2 of the GHG Protocol, as well as a specified subset of Scope 3 emissions.
- Provision of emissions reporting for the six greenhouse gases covered by the Kyoto Protocol in CO2e (Carbon Dioxide Equivalent).
- Information about the environmental management practises that will be used to deliver the contract in order to support achieving Net Zero by 2050, such as certification programmes or specific carbon reduction practises the supplier has adopted.
- Approval within a year of the date of the procurement from the board of directors (or an equivalent management body).
- Verification that the CRP is available on the supplier’s website.
