The Challenge
AECOM was tasked with rescuing a massively delayed international development project in Saudi Arabia. ESG Pro was selected to oversee our Management Services team to guide all aspects of our ESG work which centred on protecting the nation’s cultural and environmental heritage at community level. A core requirement was to conceive, design, and deliver a management interface which could offer and instant ESG overview at street, city, and district level. The time constraint was extreme.
The Solution
From materiality assessments and gap analysis activities, through to multi-stage evaluations and hands-on advisory at all levels of government and industry, including presentations to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the project plan was built upon the Global Reporting Institute (GRI) ESG framework and a bespoke framework designed by ESG Pro. This is enabling Saudi businesses to progress towards commercial ESG standards such as EcoVadis™™ and Sustainalytics™™.
The Result
This critical project was completed on-time and on-budget. The work encompassed all aspects of ESG reporting per the GRI framework, including social value, supply chain auditing, and beyond.
